I have posted something about this previously but I think it may be time to talk about it again. Lets use the illegal immigration problem. It has seemed to be said by all that we do not know exactly home many are here and where they are.

OK, go ahead and establish a Guest Worker program. But make the following part of the law and make it happen immediately.

Everyone including wives and children not working to be issued a card with a social security number and a federal immigration number as primary identification. This card now can be used to obtain a driver’s license that will contain the same numbers as the first card.

No one can receive assistance from hospitals; go to school or anything else without the card. I will bet people will get the cards if that is part of the law.

Now for the tricky part, what about citizens of the United States that may look like an illegal migrant? Maybe it's time for everyone to have a card. After all, you have a SS number, drivers license, many have passports and the IRS knows everything about you.

Have the law contain sunset provisions that will force congress to address problems that will naturally come up after time. Further have the sunset provision contain a strict time limit to re-pass the law. That may be the only way to get them off their duffs and work.
