WASP
White, Anglo-Saxon, Protestants. Yep that is what most of the original settlers were in this country. Hard working, God fearing solid people. Strange enough the immigrants that followed fell right into the same mold. Yes, they had different religions and spoke a different language but the learn English and became part of the “Melting Pot” we as a country love to talk about. Were there problems? You bet there was but all and all by the following generations were born everyone every one was now an “American”.But it now seems that more and more of our immigrants, both legal and illegal, seem to place themselves into self imposed “ghettos”. It has been done with our black population also.
None of this can be good for the myth of the “Melting Pot”. Our population has starting to live within “walls” that are built by all of us. Is it social, economic or some other reason? I really do not know any longer. At one time I must admit I thought I knew. It was simple, as long as everyone worked his or her butts off then success would come. Not sure of that any longer. I know some good people that seem to go backwards no matter how hard they work.
This illegal immigration must be settled and must be settled quickly. If you think our problems are bad now, just wait. We will continue to be pulled apart.
