How Long Will This Country Exist?

It is generally accepted that free countries, republics/democracies, have historically lasted about 200 years plus or minus. Don’t start trying to tell me about Rome. The Roman Republic lasted about 200 years or so and then they allowed Julius Cesar to become the Emperor. Same for Greece. France has had a free elected country for about the same length of time as the United States. The big difference is they have evolved to a socialist country. England has mixed reviews. It’s more or less has an elected government but it too is a little over 200 years old and is more or less a socialist country. You can generally get anyone to agree that France is over and done. World War II was the last chance for them to stand up for themselves. It has been downhill from there. The same is generally true for England. Not only have they lost their empire, as well they should have, but they to are becoming more and more irrelevant when it comes to influencing the world.

So where does that leave us? Not in real good shape. We are still strong but cannot seem to use that strength when we need it. The political situation is starting to parallel what brought the Roman Empire to a dictatorship. We have a congress, both houses and both parties, that appear that they should be in robes as they believe they are imperial and above us “common folk”. Nothing is really getting done that could be described as “doing the peoples business”. They seem to be more interested in doing their own business.

We let a piss ant third world garbage dump of a country screw over us over and over and over. We cannot provide our armed services the will to allow them to complete the job that President Bush started. We whine about Iran and their ambitions without any resolution. We cannot or will not protect our borders and let another third world piss ant country, Mexico, tell us what we are to do about our border. There are more, you fill in the ones that get your going. We are a debtor nation to China. We continue to try to prop up Russia with our money over and over and they continue to shit on us every chance they get.

We are heading downhill on a fast track so hang on; it’s going to get rough. Wonder who the next superpower will be? India? China? Germany?
