President Bush
I applaud President Bush for his whirlwind trip to Iraq. It was both the right thing to do and a courageous thing to do.Courageous you ask? Even with the strict “need to know” secrecy I personally would not trust telling the press corps anything and expecting the liberal bastards to keep anything a secret. Maybe, just maybe I might reconsider my opinion of them after this. Of course only a very select group was chosen to know so that may be the reason for success. I have grown weary of the phrase “the public’s right to know” that is used over and over again as an excuse to screw over anyone or anything they, the media, decide they do not like.
Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Question for today. Does the above give the press the right to yell “FIRE” in a crowded theater? Looking forward for opinions.
