I received the following comment regarding the post about Brad Pitt coming to New Orleans and was shocked when he saw the devastation. The quote is as follows:I have not read one account of a person who actually visited New Orleans that has not said the exact same thing. This includes the politicians of this country, Republican and Democrat. Come on down and you will see what I mean.
I think I understand the frustration of the people that live in the areas affected but if you think politicians are going to say anything else other than what you are hearing then you need to pull your head out of your ass. Remember, they are always vote gathering and therefore must overstate their reactions. Dumbass voters expect such actions. The real important part of solving the current problems in the New Orleans area is exactly what is being done with the vast amount of money being dumped in the area. Is it going to be sucked up by the corrupt politicians and their friends and relatives? My guess is it will as nothing has changed there as far as I can see that would leave me to believe any different.
I have for many reasons traveled the world and have seen many areas that have been devastated by both nature and man. A logical person that took the time to actually investigate what happened and looked at the huge coverage by the media of the damage in New Orleans and surrounding area should have a "clue" what you would see in person. My point remains: The world revolves around the egocentric shits that are the actors. Most have no real credentials to make any statements beyond their "fame" and usually have no real idea what the fuck is going on. They are for the most part burger flippers that have money. I humbly apologize to all of the hard working, honest burger flippers out there.
