Middle of the Night

Well, here I am again, up in the middle of the night. Just cannot sleep the night through. Guess it’s a product of getting old. Dangerous as it gives me a lot of time to think.

This time my thoughts have turned to who in the world will the Republican Party run for president in 08. As of this time I can see no one on the horizon that could get elected. If McCain is the front runner then the party is in grave trouble. The fatal flaw President Bush has is he means exactly what he says and that’s it. It’s a Texas thing and if you have not lived there then most will not understand. I have made it clear that I do not agree with going into Iraq as I feel it should have been Iran. But, there is a basic truth in all of this. It is simple. We fight them there or here. Where do you want it to happen? The, for the life of me I cannot decided what to call them, people that want to kill you and change your way of life have already attacked this country and now we are crying to pull back and hope it will all go away.

This will in time come to a final conflict and I hope we are ready. I am beginning to doubt it.
